Hello my dearests,
And welcome back to the rip-roaring ego-stravaganza that is Bizzy In Your Box.
Bizzy In Your Box: An Ongoing Conversation with the Black Hole of Your Email Spam Folder.
WARNING to subscribers both old and new:
This issue features DANGEROUSLY HIGH LEVELS of self-promotion!
Any more, and the whole thing’ll sink to the bottom of the Internet ocean!!
If you can brave the onslaught, then, onward…
Bizzy makes her New Yorker cartoon debut
The May 27 issue features a delightful cover by R. Kikuo Johnson.
Ain’t this lady a hoot?
It reminds me of buying my first bootleg watch at South Street Seaport on a high school field trip.
That was the same field trip where some guys tried to sell us drugs in the bathroom of the 8th Avenue McDonald’s. (You know the one.)
But enough about high school!
Behold, a cartoon by artist Lia Strasser and wordsmith Bizzy Coy!
This is a New Yorker cartoon debut for both of us. We went through dozens of captions until landing on the winner.
A few of the (many) losers:
“Sometimes I take off my helmet just to feel alive.”
“I know how to ride a two-wheeler, but this better fits my vibe.”
“I don’t go to that playground anymore. Parking is a nightmare.”
“I’m thinking of going electric.”
“I thought people judged me for using training wheels, but I was projecting my own insecurities.”
“Their parenting was so gentle, I just rode away.”
Here we are, two classy broads hard at work on a whole batch of comics way back in March.
Bizzy is (not really) doing stand-up comedy
I am beyond honored to appear alongside ACTUAL COMEDIANS at this fundraiser performance for the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce.
I’ll be reading a new humor piece penned just for the occasion. I’ll even try my hand at a few jokes. That alone is worth the ticket price!

Through panels, readings, art, performance and community engagement, the festival will spotlight the intersections between utopian dreams, the nurturing solace of gardens and nature and the narratives that challenge and inspire us to envision a better world.

Oh no!
I had so much more to tell you, but MAXIMUM SELF PROMOTION HAS BEEN REACHED.
This newsletter is officially at full capacity.
Until next time, my dear ones.
